Something fortunate accidentally discovered

Serendipity - when one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely.
On my way to Loreto School in Queenswood I stopped at a quaint little coffee shop to ask for directions and kill some time before my appointment. I sat at a table next to a wonderful lady by the name of Dianne Schoeman. She noticed my WaterWise t-shirt and we chatted about the work that we do. She then invited us to host a series of workshops at her home in Centurion for domestic workers and the caregivers at an aftercare centre. The Laerskool Fontainebleau has also invited me to present workshops with their learners at the After-Care Centre. It is a great opportunity to host a workshop once the homework is all done.
I have been on a return visit to Laerskool Ebenhaeuser, in Krugersdorp, to present a workshop to the Grade 7 students. Thanks to the personal referral from Mr van der Watt at Laerskool Helderkruin, I will soon be visiting: Crawford Primary School, Crossroads Primary School, Cliffview Primary School, Laerskool Krugersdorp Noord, Laerskool Protearif, and Laerskool Die Ruiter.
Karen Eloff, a journalist with the Sunday Afrikaans newspaper “Sondag” and photographer, Nicolene Olckers accompanied me to a workshop held at the Willow Ridge Private School on Tuesday, 20th May. One of the girls attending the workshop told me how her mom had tried to save her little sister’s life a few years ago when she accidentally slipped and fell into the swimming pool. Her mom had to shout for help and, fortunately for them, the neighbour next door knew a bit about first aid and CPR. She was one of the first ones to volunteer at the workshop and was most determined to have her chance with the CPR dummy.
